Mission Statement
To lift, uphold and preserve the ideals of the legacy of the Tennessee State University
Aristocrat of Bands through financial and physical support; through fellowship among
alumni; through mentoring to potential and current students; and, through the promotion
of Tennessee State University and the community-at-large.
When we were chartered
The Tennessee State University National Alumni Association officially chartered
the chapter on November 6, 1999 as the Aristocrat of Bands National Alumni Chapter.
President Robert Smith conducted the ceremony at the Robert N. Murrell forum during
the Homecoming ‘ 99 weekend. The chapter is currently one of the six special interest
organizations chartered by TSUNAA. Currently, the chapters are Band, Basketball,
Engineering, Football, Nursing and Omega Psi Phi.
Chapter Plan of Action
The chapter is currently operating under a five- (5) year plan of action, which
focuses on five (5) service areas: The Aristocrat of Bands, the alumni, the students,
the university and the community. The primary objective of the organization is to
raise annual funds for band scholarships. By 2010, it is the goal of the chapter
to raise a minimum of $50,000 annually to benefit the band and other programs. It
is also a five (5) year objective to have 300 to 500 active members with extensions
in most major cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Birmingham,
etc.)
